One Seashell - Action

[When Ariel burst out of the sea, she had expected to still be in the water. What she wasn't expected was to be stuck up in a tree.

At least, she thinks it's called a tree. Whatever it is, she's stuck in it, and the ground is pretty far beneath her.

She leans over to cling to the trunk of the tree and stares down, wondering how she got up here and how to get down and - and is that... is that the ground?

Then she... She's on the land?

Ariel slowly looks over to her legs. Legs. Legs! She can't help stretching one out, and the shock on her face turns into elation. It worked! The spell worked! Oh, she has to find Eric now! She -

She's so happy that she very nearly falls out of the tree, and she holds tightly to the trunk again. Yeaaah, she should. Probably not move much right now, even for Eric.

Maybe someone will come along...]

Aa, thought so. [He gently picks her up again and heads for the village.]

We'll see if we can find anything of yours in one of the shops around here.

[He notices how cold she looks--duh, of course, Hiccup!--so he unzips his coat, shrugs it off, and offers it to her.]

Here. I'm used to the cold, anyway. I used to live in a place even colder than this all the time, soo...yeah. [He's a badass like that.]

[With a nod, Ran Fan picked the other girl up and began running for the village. It might be a bit fast, so hopefully Ariel doesn't mind.

It doesn't take too long, so the two arrive at the village.]

We should get you your normal clothes first. [As she spoke, she set Ariel down.]

That's... a tough question for her. She lost it at home thanks to Ursula. But that only lasted for a few seconds, and now she's here. So, in a way... technically, she couldn't speak for those few seconds.

But she has a feeling he doesn't want to get into technicalities. Besides, it'd be too tough to explain without something to write with. Instead, she nods, her smile somewhat sad at the thought. She loves to sing... Now she can't even do that anymore.

[... Oh hey, that does work! Now she can keep up and actually start moving. It immediately becomes clear that the way she was walking a second ago was completely wrong, seeing how her balance just swayed to the side when she tried it again.

Ariel looks at Beast's feet, and she tries to match that step he took. It's pretty wide, and that doesn't feel right either... But she does look up and nod with a big smile. She really appreciates his help, especially since he's a very solid figure. She doesn't really have to worry about falling now.]

[Ariel's... a bit unsure on that. Not the promise, but the fact that she has to fall from this high. This new found gravity is kind of intimidating... She can feel it pull at her, unlike how it is with the sea.

But she's never backed down from a challenge before. So she bites her lip hard, then shuts her eyes tight as she lets go of the tree and falls. Hhhhghghhg she just hopes she catches her...!]

[Sanji, why did your attention have to wander. Because as soon as it's off of Ariel, she's let go of his hands to try wobbling over to a rack of clothes.

Wobble is probably the best word for it: She very nearly loses her balance once she gets there. But she holds on tight to the bar the clothes are hanging on, and she only makes a small, annoyed face before it morphs into excitement over all these clothes. They're mostly dresses, but they look so... elegant! And cute, and pretty! Just like the few times she found a painting that would last under water... Just like the few times she'd find a woman walking along the beach, skirt raised slightly to catch the water on her toes.

She's not sure which one she should try first!]

[That's probably good for the both of them, considering she was clinging to his back like a spider monkey. She's not sure what's considered the proper way to hold on to someone!

Once they're on the ground, Ariel stays holding on for a few seconds longer, just because that was kind of exhilarating. But once she finally loosens her hold and slowly gets her feet to the ground, she smiles wide. Her feet are on the ground... a very cold ground, but still! She's standing! She's standing!

... She's still holding on to Obi-Wan's shoulders for balance, but she's totally standing!]

[T-To the left?! Ariel looks and... yes, it looks like there's one there. She reaches out her foot - waves it a little, and then manages to get it to lean against the branch. She moves it up slightly further to get more of her balance back, then tries to climb down once more. Okay. Okay, she's got this. She can do it!!

Finally, she's just a few feet from the ground, and there aren't any more branches.

Welp. Time to let go!!

... And land on her side. Ow.]

[And with that, Ariel holds on to his neck and smiles, as she... isn't really sure how to react when someone's carrying her like this, only what she's seen in paintings and books that managed to last long enough ~~somehow~~.

... Oh hey, he said "shop", didn't he? Ariel looks ahead, a big smile on her face because oh gosh, she cannot wait to see a real, human shop!]

[... Oh, thanks! She takes the coat and... wraps it up around her shoulders and doesn't get her arms in the holes at all. ... At least she's warm like that!

But enough of that: Ariel looks at him with a slight tilt of her head. Even colder? Where did he live?]

[Oh wow running - Ariel holds on tight to the girl's neck, and she can't help leaning in close. Aaaah it's bumpy and gravity's working weird aaaah - just give her some time to get used to this, and she'll be ridiculously happy with this sort of treatment. But right now it's kind of intimidating.

She's already loosened up a little and smiling when they get to the village, a smile which grows even wider when she actually sees the buildings. Oh gosh, oh GOSH, they're everywhere! Ariel isn't sure what to look at first!

Ariel's looped her arm though Ran Fan's to keep her balance, and she can't help touching her arm and pointing at some of the buildings. She's never seen shapes like these before...!]

[He fights not to grab her hands again - she won't learn how to walk by herself if he's constantly stealing practice time. Nevertheless, she derails his attention right back onto her, and he can't help but snort at her excitement over the more elegant clothing.

Yep. She's a princess alright]

Is there one in particular you wanna try on?

[Now you've got her in the spotlight. She looks back at him, then at the clothes once more. Which one, which one... hmm. HMM.

... Well how about this? She pulls the dress off the rack, still holding onto the bar with one hand, and holds it out. Would this work?]

[He notices her looking at his feet (leaving a blush that the fur hides), and very very slowly heads out of the woods at an ideal pace for Ariel.] Ha... a-are you not used to wa-? [Wait, is that something rude to say? Alright, he won't finish that then.]

[ ... Ack.. was that last part entirely a smart move-- well, there's nothing to be done about it now, so Madoka quickly patters over to the other girl instead, looking slightly worried. ]

U.. um, are you okay? Does it hurt?!

[Well, that. Certainly made her happy. He smiles back and her, heading for the village.]

My name's Ace. It's nice to meet you, miss...?

..Yeah. Sorry. [He says lamely after a moment, rounding the corner onto the street. The moonlight's all bright and stuff tonight, lucky thing.]

[What is this? Her arm? Ran Fan is just going to look at their arms for a moment. Is this what people do? Well, if this girl need help, then Ran Fan was going to try her best.]

Right over here is where you can get your clothes. [She leads the way. And if she's moving to fast, the girl could always tug at Ran Fan's arm to let her know.

This new girl was... different, but it was kinda nice to be around someone who was so happy and so excited.]

Berk--that's what my home was called. It's way up on the Northern seas, and it snows. A lot. Oh--and we have dragons there. Like Toothless.

[He gestures to the Night Fury padding along beside them.]

[It's pretty easy to guess what he's trying to ask, though. And Ariel doesn't mind, because it's obvious, and it'd probably help her out a little.

So, she shakes her head. She doesn't seem offended, at least. Just sheepish.]

[Ariel pushes herself up on her arms and waves her hand as if to say that she's fine, she's totally fine. She's been through worse! But now there's something she wants to try.

She rocks back on her heels and gives her feet her full attention as she slowly, very slowly, pushes herself up on her legs. Those legs are very wobbly and unsteady, but oh gosh. OH GOSH. She's STANDING. A smile spreads across her face as she straightens out a little more - She's standing!]

[Dragons... So that's what Toothless is. She gives an expression of understanding as she leans over to pass her hand behind Toothless' ear again. A dragon...! She thought they were just far off myths!

And now for another thing: She glances at Hiccup, then moves as much as she can to pick up the snow from the ground. It starts to melt already, and she's a little enthralled by that... But soon enough, she looks at Hiccup again, and mouths the word "snow?".]

["My name is..."

... Ah, right. She lowers her eyes for a second in morbid realization... then lifts her head up to tap her throat and shake her head. She can't really tell you her name...

But she can mouth the word "Ariel" slowly.]

[She shakes her head, still smiling, though it grows happier. It's okay. She's happy. This is something she's wanted all her life. Even though she had to lose something, this is still a dream come true.

She stops for a moment to look up at the moon. Under the sea, the moon is so distorted. Here... it's bright, beautiful and a perfectly round shape.]
