One Seashell - Action

[When Ariel burst out of the sea, she had expected to still be in the water. What she wasn't expected was to be stuck up in a tree.

At least, she thinks it's called a tree. Whatever it is, she's stuck in it, and the ground is pretty far beneath her.

She leans over to cling to the trunk of the tree and stares down, wondering how she got up here and how to get down and - and is that... is that the ground?

Then she... She's on the land?

Ariel slowly looks over to her legs. Legs. Legs! She can't help stretching one out, and the shock on her face turns into elation. It worked! The spell worked! Oh, she has to find Eric now! She -

She's so happy that she very nearly falls out of the tree, and she holds tightly to the trunk again. Yeaaah, she should. Probably not move much right now, even for Eric.

Maybe someone will come along...]

[Okay NOW is probably a good time to intervene. As fun as this is, it is winter and she's a new feather and yeah, they should do something about that.]

S-sorry about that. He gets a little carried away sometimes. Do you want to head into town to find some...warm clothes?

[He nods.] Yep, Luceti. Sorry to say you were taken from your world and put here.

[askjfgjfgtwejbfsdds WHAT EVEN?!?! Ran Fan's brain just broke. A kiss? How is she even supposed to react to that? This was not how they thanked people in Xing.

So, while Ariel went to try to change, Ran Fan stood there awkwardly. People from this other girl's world were strange. But, she couldn't act like this forever, so she'll act normal the second Ariel comes back.

Nope. Never awkward.]

All right. Be there in a bit. [And she spares a grin for the strange redheaded chick before hanging up. Carry on, people. She'll be there in a bit.]

[She smiles back and -

Oh. Oh, the little screen went dark.

Ariel's smile fades to confusion, and she shakes the book a little as if to get the person in the picture to come out of there. What happened just now? How did she...?]

[She holds on tightly around the first thing solid thing she could feel - Judith's neck, and she curls slightly, enough so that her shoulders raise and her chin touches her chest. But then she realizes that she isn't falling, and she can hear the other girl talk to her...

Slowly, she opens one eye, then the other, and she relaxes enough to look up at the other woman. Ha... Ha! She made it! Th-There really wasn't anything to be afraid of!

We just won't mention how her heart's still pounding a million miles an hour. Ahaha...

Instead, Ariel will smile widely before leaning up to kiss Judith on the cheek in gratitude. It's the only way she really knows how in this state of hers.]

[It's no feat guessing where her confusion originates this time.]

The picture's gone because Nami-san isn't looking through her own book right now. She's coming here. [Though he still lets her handle his book without any fuss. Those things are durable] You'll get to meet her in person~!

[Her mouth forms an o shape, as if she's going "oooh" in understanding. She doesn't quite know everything about this book - there are so many buttons and keys and oops she might have accidentally made an entry or something. But this does make her very curious. She's never seen a book like this before...

She might even still be absorbed in it by the time Nami gets there.]

[Oh well, in that case. Sanji'll probably notice her first, approaching the door to the item shop, still kind of putting her hair up on the way. It's a little damp. 8| She'll just open the door and stick her head inside and give a warm and heartfelt greeting!]

I'm getting breakfast in bed for this, right?

[Yup. Because she totally wouldn't be here otherwise. >> Really.]

[Oh sup pretty lady how u doin. >>]

For the rest of forever, if that's what Nami-swan wishes~! [He gently pats Ariel on the shoulder, directing her attention up if it's not already]

Oh hey, it's Namiswan! He must call her Nami for short.

Ariel sets the journal aside on the clothes... where it slides off and hits the floor, but she doesn't seem to notice. Instead, she smiles wide, because oh my gosh, this is the first time she's ever seen a human female outside of paintings!

She waves and tries to step towards her, but - urk, gotta stand still and hold her arms out. That was an awkward step...]

[Nami reaches forward briefly in case she falls, but relaxes once it's obvious the girl can stand on her own two feet. For now, anyway. Hm, she's getting a 'naive and innocent' impression, here. 8|a]

Hey, uh... Princess. Do you have another name?

[Oh my; Judith feels like a knight in shining armor now. Offering a smile and a little laugh, she helps her down to solid ground at last - provided the redhead is willing to let go of the death grip she has on Judith's neck.]

Why thank you. Perhaps I can get your name as well as a kiss?

I'll start. Judith.

About that... [Sanji smoothly picks up the journal, half his attention on Ariel's balancing act. He speaks over her head]

She can't speak, so I never got her actual name. And as you can see... [She can barely manage this walking thing. If nothing else, Nami might start to see why Sanji asked her for help.]

[Ariel herself seems to have gotten herself balanced out, though with one leg far in front of the other and her arms out to her sides. And though she appears to be focused on her legs, she does look up at Nami(swan) and nod, lips pressed together, yet smiling just slightly.

...

Now how to give it. Uhh...]

[... Aaah, her feet are on the ground. Her feet are on the ground! Ariel smiles wide, though her hold transfers to Judith's shoulders to keep her balance. Gosh, her legs keep wobbling...

It takes her a moment to react to the name. But once she does, she looks up, and she tries to give her own...

Only to mouth the words instead. Oh... that's right. She can't.

She taps her throat and shakes her head.]

[Yeah, she's getting the idea. Nami reaches out and taps the journal in Sanji's hands, smiling at Ariel.] It's nice to meet you. Do you have one of these? It'll have your name on it.

... Oh right. [Derp a herp. Some stupid Luceti veteran always forgets that fact] Nami-san's brilliance shines again~!

[She sure is unsteady; it's like watching a baby deer. Judith doesn't mind at all giving her support, but it does beg the question of why she couldn't do it on her own.]

[And now she's mute? Quite the mystery.]

Well then. I'll just have to find your name another way, then, won't I?

Did you just arrive in this place? All you need to do is nod.

[... She just looks kind of confused, and she shakes her head. She doesn't remember seeing one... but then again, that's because it was stuck in the branches above her, and she wasn't exactly focused on looking up.]

[Hnn. That's more of a problem, then.] Can you write?

[... A smile slowly comes up on her face, and she nods. It's nice to not get a sympathetic look, as she was expecting from most anyone she'd talk to about her lack of voice. But yes, she did just arrive. She looks up at the tree, then back at Judith with a sheepish shrug. Right in that tree, too.]

[Now, Ariel does nod at that, a smile brightening up on her face. She looks around, then, her arms waving as she tries to regain her balance and try to find something to write with. Pen? ~~Seaweed~~ Paper? That's what humans use, right?]

[They do! And Sanji happens to have a pad of paper and pencil hidden in his jacket, usually for scribbling orders or grocery lists. Though he first grabs one of Ariel's hands so she's more securely anchored in place, his free hand dives into his pocket, pulling the aforementioned items out] Will this do?
