One Seashell - Action

[When Ariel burst out of the sea, she had expected to still be in the water. What she wasn't expected was to be stuck up in a tree.

At least, she thinks it's called a tree. Whatever it is, she's stuck in it, and the ground is pretty far beneath her.

She leans over to cling to the trunk of the tree and stares down, wondering how she got up here and how to get down and - and is that... is that the ground?

Then she... She's on the land?

Ariel slowly looks over to her legs. Legs. Legs! She can't help stretching one out, and the shock on her face turns into elation. It worked! The spell worked! Oh, she has to find Eric now! She -

She's so happy that she very nearly falls out of the tree, and she holds tightly to the trunk again. Yeaaah, she should. Probably not move much right now, even for Eric.

Maybe someone will come along...]

[Ariel's expression brightens as she nods and reaches out to grab these two items, though she gets more of a grip on her balance thanks to Sanji's hand before pulling her own free to write with. Okay, now she's in a good position, and now she can finally communicate.

First thing's first: she writes, the holds up the notepad to both of them.

"Ariel"

And once they look at the paper, she'll tap her collarbones with her free hand. Yes, that's her name.]

[Peeeeeering at the piece of paper when she holds it out, pronouncing the name slowly] "Ariel"...

... Princess Ariel-chwaaaaaan~! Aaaah, it suits her so well~!

Yes, yes. [Casually waving a dismissive hand at Sanji and shoving between them like the bitch she is to smile brilliantly at Ariel. Pay no attention to the hearting chef behind her, kiddo.]

It's nice to meet you. Shall we find you some great clothes to wear? Any favourite colours?

[She thinks she's following this girl's mimed explanation of events.]

Well then. Welcome to Luceti.

[Ariel does lean to the side a little to try looking at Sanji again - are those hearts? - before she realizes it's a bad idea, what with her arms pinwheeling lightly as she tries to gain her balance again. She manages, and she looks up at Nami with a somewhat sheepish smile. Eh heh...

Now, colors? She writes again as she slowly straightens herself up.

"Lavender, green, blue."

And then she glances down at the dress she was holding earlier, though now it's on the floor. Whoops.]

[Wiggle. Wiggle.

... Yep he is just wiggling because yay gurl bonding! Sanji is such a fanboy. Though he swoops up the fallen dress, already taking it upon himself to be their pack mule.]

[... Oh. Is that what this place is? Luceti?

Ariel tilts her head and mouths the word. Is that what the kingdom is called...?]

Good colours, those. [Except lavender. She holds judgement on lavender! Of course, Ariel's hair is not orange >_>] And I'm going to assume you'd prefer dresses? Or do you want some pants as well?

[She nods, but - oh. Now that she thinks about it... What would pants be like? So, after a pause, she writes down just one word.

"Everything!"]

[Sanji glances at that and-- yeah, he's so very glad he called Nami in for this]

Maybe give her a bunch of clothes to try on and see which ones she likes?

Yeah, I think that's a good idea. [Nami's already shifting to glance around the store picking out clothing on a mental list.] Sanji-kun, you could leave this to us if you want. We can come get you when we're done. [Pack mule and all. Of course if he'd rather stay, she's not about to push him out the door.

Watch out, Ariel; she's started yanking things off shelves and making a pile. >_>]

[Not that Judith can tell what she's trying to say, so she cocks her head in the opposite direction of the girl's.]

It's hard to answer questions when you don't ask them.

[And she bends down to the ground, searching around the trunk of the tree. Even if the girl won't speak, if they can find the journal, she can probably write down her half of the conversation, right?]

There should be a little book somewhere very near here, just for you.

Yeah, I think I'll leave you two ladies alone.

Make sure to call for me when you're finished~! [He'll just. Prance out the clothing store then, leaving the dress behind first. Don't worry, Ariel; you are in good hands]

Until we meet again, Princess~!

[... A book? Yes, she knows what that is. But is there really one nearby?

Ariel leans against the tree trunk for balance as she looks around, too. Maybe it fell with her... But hey, what's that under the snow, poking out a bit - ah, there we go! She leans down, though it's more like she falls to her knees rather than kneels, and pulls at the book hidden there. It's a little wet thanks to the snow, but there it is!

She holds it up for Judith to see with a big smile, then opens it up to look through it. Her eyes go wide for a moment... and she leans in slowly, staring at all these things happening. Voices... videos? What kind of book is this?]

[She gives Sanji a light wave, a little curious as to where he's going. But soon her attention is caught up by Nami and all of the clothing gathering she's doing. There's a big smile on Ariel's face as she watches, and she even moves to help - only to wobble and grab onto one of the clothing racks. Maybe staying put is a better idea...]

[Good lord, woman. Nami pokes her head around her growing pile of clothing and regards Ariel curiously.]

You're not used to walking, are you?

[She looks up from watching her feet once Nami speaks, and... with a sheepish smile and a bite of her lip, she shakes her head. Once she gets enough balance to let go with one hand, she uses it to make a flipping motion with her hand, as if mimicking how a dolphin swims. Or a mermaid, in this case.]

Confused, are we?

[She just stands simply, waiting for the inevitable - mimed - questions on what to do with it.]

[She turns the book side to side. Then pokes the part where the pictures are.

And then, as expected, she looks back at Judith and holds the book up, a confused expression on her face, and nods. Yes. She is.]

[Hey, some of her best friends are... wait, does not compute. Nami blinks.] You're a mermaid? You don't look that old...

[... Oh wow, Nami got it immediately. Sanji just guessed that she's used to swimming.

So she looks both surprised and confused as she lowers her hand slowly. Not that old? Who says one has to be old to be a mermaid? She's been one ever since she was a little baby.]

[Whereas Nami takes that confusion as fact that she's wrong and Ariel isn't a mermaid. 8| She raises a hand.] Uh, sorry. We have mermaids where we come from! But their tails split when they turn 30, so before that, they don't have feet. That's why. Sorry! [And she grins.] Didn't really mean to call you old.

...here. I'll put this pile in the dressing room for you. [And she vanishes with her bundle to the back of the shop, voice drifting back.] If you can manage it, come this way! Otherwise I'll give you a hand.

[blah blah blah journal tutorial goes here, press x to start...]

[Judith, in her own journal, presents the following two lines and an in real life smile.]

My name is Judith; what's yours?

[Oh no - Ariel reaches out a hand to her and mouths "I am a mermaid!", but, of course, no sound comes out. Gah... Well, she'll have to try something else. First, she writes the same down on the notepad, before she flashes a brief smile towards Nami and begins her slow journey to the dressing room.

She doesn't have hands to hold on to, but she can do this. She can do this! She just has to hold on to the clothing racks as she walks. That's it, slowly, slowly...

FWUMP.

... So, it does take her quite some time to get back there. But she manages! And she gives a sheepish smile, because... well. She had knocked over a clothing display, and while she tried to set it back up as best as she could, it was still quite a mess.]

[Ariel looks at the two lines, then up at Judith with a smile of her own. She mouths the name: "Judith"... It had a nice flow to it.

Ah, now it's her turn. As if she just realized that, her eyes widen, and then she takes the pen and writes her answer.]

"My name is Ariel. I've never seen a book like this before in my life!"
