One Seashell - Action

[When Ariel burst out of the sea, she had expected to still be in the water. What she wasn't expected was to be stuck up in a tree.

At least, she thinks it's called a tree. Whatever it is, she's stuck in it, and the ground is pretty far beneath her.

She leans over to cling to the trunk of the tree and stares down, wondering how she got up here and how to get down and - and is that... is that the ground?

Then she... She's on the land?

Ariel slowly looks over to her legs. Legs. Legs! She can't help stretching one out, and the shock on her face turns into elation. It worked! The spell worked! Oh, she has to find Eric now! She -

She's so happy that she very nearly falls out of the tree, and she holds tightly to the trunk again. Yeaaah, she should. Probably not move much right now, even for Eric.

Maybe someone will come along...]

[ Madoka quickly nods back, even smiling as if to encourage the other girl. ]

Hmm, you're doing fine so far! And you got out of the tree, at least that's a relief.. [ giggle. ]

Eh? [Her confusion sparks his own, and it's only after twisting his head in silent inquiry that he sees what's gathered her attention] Oh, right. Every person who comes to Luceti gets a shitty book like this. [He holds it out, opening it for her.] They're not like normal books, though. We can communicate with other people through them.

[Always when she's in the bath, geez. 8| Give her a second, she'll just make herself semi-decent before picking the journal up from the floor.]

[... She looks up at him at that. Really? Why? This isn't the beach or anything...

Come to think of it, just where was she?]

[Ariel covers her mouth when Toothless does that in an effort to hide a laugh. Not that there's any sound coming from it anyway, but hey, it's automatic.

And she's so caught up in that that she doesn't see the snowball coming right at her. OH NO WHAT DOES SHE DO -

RIGHT IN THE FACE.

FALLING ON HER ELBOWS NOW. Jeez that's some cold stuff.]

[Communication...? A book used for communication? She's never heard of that before! Not even in the stories back in her world!

So Nami may get a view of a redhead getting her face in the journal to look at all the things. What are all these buttons? Jeez, this is so different from the book she has back at home... And hey, does this mean she has a journal, too?]

[That makes her look back at the tree, a curious expression on her face. She knew it was a tree, she heard as much. But... she's never actually seen one up close. And she can't help being captivated by the way the leaves rustle in the wind...]

[Ariel pauses, giving the clothes a blank look before nodding. Yeah, sure! Those work! Ariel would rather go for something more elegant, but she's not quite sure how people dress in the human world. Maybe it's like this!]

[Oh Ariel. Ran Fan was the wrong person for this. She couldn't help you at all. These jut looked like they fit and keep her warm.]

You can go change back there.

... now that I think about it, since you can't walk well, we might need to see if someone can stay with you and help you out.

[He smiles up at her.] Don't worry, Luceti's got plenty of nice people.

[ She just slowly blinks at the other girl, almost curiously and trying to follow her gaze. ]

Can you see something special..?

[AH CRAP HE KNOCKED HER DOWN instant guilt. Hhjgasdgkdl;

Hiccup rushes over to help her up.]

Ah--s-sorry! I didn't mean to...yeah.

[You were totally in the bath, weren't you? *_* HNNGH]

[Only through god-like diligence does Sanji resist the urge to melt into a puddle of matter; not that this stops him from his usual giddy antics]

Nami-swaaaaaaaan~! I have a little favor to ask~! [The topic of said favor is busy inspecting this new, shiny bit of technology]

I found a New Feather in the woods, and she's a bit... [How to even explain this. His voice turns serious for a spell] She could use some help getting dressed, for starters. [That's not all, is what his tone implies, but Nami can pick up on the details for herself when she gets here. >>]

[...huh. Sanji seems to have picked up a cute redhead from somewhere. How bizarre.

Nami blinks back at Ariel as Sanji speaks, finally shifting her attention back to the chef as she towels her hair dry, voice faintly irritable. But mainly for appearances. She trusts Sanji wouldn't call her without reason.

...okay, he wouldn't call her about another girl without reason. 8|]

You'll need to give me a few minutes, then. Are you at the clothing store?

I... [This... takes him back a good ten years... when he was forced to adapt to his present form... suddenly having all of this strength, this fur, trying to hold things with claws... and especially learning how to walk on all fours when his limbs are different on each end.

So quietly, but firmly, he responds with an:] I understand.

[By now they should be able to see a clearing beyond the trees, probably with visible buildings.]

[Hiccup. How could you. You're awful. You're an awful man.

Ariel lays on her side, her hair covering her face and arms. Defeated. Down and out. All because of - ]

[And then she sweeps her hair back to throw the handful of snow she gathered while she was hidden right at Hiccup.

PSYCHE.]

[Cry, don't rub it in, okay, he's already feeling bad eno--

OH GEEZ SUDDENLY SNOW IN HIS FACE, THAT IS REALLY COLD.

He just stands there in stunned silence for a moment. He. Cannot believe she just pulled a fast one on him like that.

BUT TOOTHLESS IS A MERCILESS CREATURE and when he sees his viking get hit in the noggin with that snow, he sweeps a tail across the ground and sends a wave cascading towards Ariel.]

[She grounds her feet in and braces herself, eyes watching every step of the way as the girl finally lets go of her clutched branch -]

[It's a tangle of long limbs for a moment but there's no fear of leaving her arms.]

There. [She offers a smile to the redhead she's now holding bridal-style.] Not so bad a fall.

[...

Ch... ange...?

Ariel stares blankly for a moment before she slowly comes to the realization that yes, Ran Fan meant the clothes. That must be how humans refer to it.

And... she has to do it herself.

... Aaaaah how does one get into these things? She tilts her head and looks down at the clothes, then looks at Ran Fan's, then her own... Maybe it goes like this? Hmm. It doesn't seem too hard.

She is grateful, though, so to show her appreciation, Ariel smiles wide before she leans over to kiss Ran Fan's cheek. It's the only way she can think of how to show her thanks without gesturing wildly, at least. After she does that, she slowly lets go of Ran Fan, then wobbles a bit unsteadily as she makes her way to the dressing room.

SHE CAN DO THIS. SHE CAN DO THIS.]

[Someone staying with her sounds well and good, but:

... Luceti? Ariel mouthes the word with a little frown on her face. Is that what this place is called?]

[... She can hear the other person's - Namiswan? - voice. She can actually hear her voice!

Ariel takes the journal with one hand and just looks positively excited over this. She thought books were just for reading! She never thought you could actually hear a voice from them and use them for communicating with each other!]

[... Uh oh UH OH that is a wave of snow and there is no way she can avoid that

AAAAAAAAH COVERING HEAD -

Aaand covered.

She wipes her hands at the snow, though, laughing silently over just how much of it got all over her. But now she is wet and still very cold and now it's more noticeable by the way she wraps her arms around herself. She still looks happy, at least.]

[... OH right this is a human!

Ariel looks back at her and shakes her head, a big, sheepish smile on her face. N-No, nothing at all! Trees aren't special! At least, if humans think they aren't, then... she guesses... she doesn't think so either!!]
