One Seashell - Action

[When Ariel burst out of the sea, she had expected to still be in the water. What she wasn't expected was to be stuck up in a tree.

At least, she thinks it's called a tree. Whatever it is, she's stuck in it, and the ground is pretty far beneath her.

She leans over to cling to the trunk of the tree and stares down, wondering how she got up here and how to get down and - and is that... is that the ground?

Then she... She's on the land?

Ariel slowly looks over to her legs. Legs. Legs! She can't help stretching one out, and the shock on her face turns into elation. It worked! The spell worked! Oh, she has to find Eric now! She -

She's so happy that she very nearly falls out of the tree, and she holds tightly to the trunk again. Yeaaah, she should. Probably not move much right now, even for Eric.

Maybe someone will come along...]

[Only through god-like diligence does Sanji resist the urge to melt into a puddle of matter; not that this stops him from his usual giddy antics]

Nami-swaaaaaaaan~! I have a little favor to ask~! [The topic of said favor is busy inspecting this new, shiny bit of technology]

I found a New Feather in the woods, and she's a bit... [How to even explain this. His voice turns serious for a spell] She could use some help getting dressed, for starters. [That's not all, is what his tone implies, but Nami can pick up on the details for herself when she gets here. >>]

[...huh. Sanji seems to have picked up a cute redhead from somewhere. How bizarre.

Nami blinks back at Ariel as Sanji speaks, finally shifting her attention back to the chef as she towels her hair dry, voice faintly irritable. But mainly for appearances. She trusts Sanji wouldn't call her without reason.

...okay, he wouldn't call her about another girl without reason. 8|]

You'll need to give me a few minutes, then. Are you at the clothing store?

[... She can hear the other person's - Namiswan? - voice. She can actually hear her voice!

Ariel takes the journal with one hand and just looks positively excited over this. She thought books were just for reading! She never thought you could actually hear a voice from them and use them for communicating with each other!]

[... Ariel, he still needs that. B| Oh well. Nami will still be able to hear him]

Yes~! We'll be waiting for you~! Take your time~!

All right. Be there in a bit. [And she spares a grin for the strange redheaded chick before hanging up. Carry on, people. She'll be there in a bit.]

Ariel's smile fades to confusion, and she shakes the book a little as if to get the person in the picture to come out of there. What happened just now? How did she...?]

[It's no feat guessing where her confusion originates this time.]

The picture's gone because Nami-san isn't looking through her own book right now. She's coming here. [Though he still lets her handle his book without any fuss. Those things are durable] You'll get to meet her in person~!

[Her mouth forms an o shape, as if she's going "oooh" in understanding. She doesn't quite know everything about this book - there are so many buttons and keys and oops she might have accidentally made an entry or something. But this does make her very curious. She's never seen a book like this before...

She might even still be absorbed in it by the time Nami gets there.]

[Oh well, in that case. Sanji'll probably notice her first, approaching the door to the item shop, still kind of putting her hair up on the way. It's a little damp. 8| She'll just open the door and stick her head inside and give a warm and heartfelt greeting!]

I'm getting breakfast in bed for this, right?

[Yup. Because she totally wouldn't be here otherwise. >> Really.]

For the rest of forever, if that's what Nami-swan wishes~! [He gently pats Ariel on the shoulder, directing her attention up if it's not already]

Oh hey, it's Namiswan! He must call her Nami for short.

Ariel sets the journal aside on the clothes... where it slides off and hits the floor, but she doesn't seem to notice. Instead, she smiles wide, because oh my gosh, this is the first time she's ever seen a human female outside of paintings!

She waves and tries to step towards her, but - urk, gotta stand still and hold her arms out. That was an awkward step...]

[Nami reaches forward briefly in case she falls, but relaxes once it's obvious the girl can stand on her own two feet. For now, anyway. Hm, she's getting a 'naive and innocent' impression, here. 8|a]

Hey, uh... Princess. Do you have another name?

About that... [Sanji smoothly picks up the journal, half his attention on Ariel's balancing act. He speaks over her head]

She can't speak, so I never got her actual name. And as you can see... [She can barely manage this walking thing. If nothing else, Nami might start to see why Sanji asked her for help.]

[Ariel herself seems to have gotten herself balanced out, though with one leg far in front of the other and her arms out to her sides. And though she appears to be focused on her legs, she does look up at Nami(swan) and nod, lips pressed together, yet smiling just slightly.

...

Now how to give it. Uhh...]

[Yeah, she's getting the idea. Nami reaches out and taps the journal in Sanji's hands, smiling at Ariel.] It's nice to meet you. Do you have one of these? It'll have your name on it.

... Oh right. [Derp a herp. Some stupid Luceti veteran always forgets that fact] Nami-san's brilliance shines again~!

[... She just looks kind of confused, and she shakes her head. She doesn't remember seeing one... but then again, that's because it was stuck in the branches above her, and she wasn't exactly focused on looking up.]

[Hnn. That's more of a problem, then.] Can you write?

[Now, Ariel does nod at that, a smile brightening up on her face. She looks around, then, her arms waving as she tries to regain her balance and try to find something to write with. Pen? ~~Seaweed~~ Paper? That's what humans use, right?]

[They do! And Sanji happens to have a pad of paper and pencil hidden in his jacket, usually for scribbling orders or grocery lists. Though he first grabs one of Ariel's hands so she's more securely anchored in place, his free hand dives into his pocket, pulling the aforementioned items out] Will this do?

[Ariel's expression brightens as she nods and reaches out to grab these two items, though she gets more of a grip on her balance thanks to Sanji's hand before pulling her own free to write with. Okay, now she's in a good position, and now she can finally communicate.

First thing's first: she writes, the holds up the notepad to both of them.

"Ariel"

And once they look at the paper, she'll tap her collarbones with her free hand. Yes, that's her name.]

[Peeeeeering at the piece of paper when she holds it out, pronouncing the name slowly] "Ariel"...

... Princess Ariel-chwaaaaaan~! Aaaah, it suits her so well~!

Yes, yes. [Casually waving a dismissive hand at Sanji and shoving between them like the bitch she is to smile brilliantly at Ariel. Pay no attention to the hearting chef behind her, kiddo.]

It's nice to meet you. Shall we find you some great clothes to wear? Any favourite colours?

[Ariel does lean to the side a little to try looking at Sanji again - are those hearts? - before she realizes it's a bad idea, what with her arms pinwheeling lightly as she tries to gain her balance again. She manages, and she looks up at Nami with a somewhat sheepish smile. Eh heh...

Now, colors? She writes again as she slowly straightens herself up.

"Lavender, green, blue."

And then she glances down at the dress she was holding earlier, though now it's on the floor. Whoops.]

[Wiggle. Wiggle.

... Yep he is just wiggling because yay gurl bonding! Sanji is such a fanboy. Though he swoops up the fallen dress, already taking it upon himself to be their pack mule.]
